The reasoning i ask is because I've stumbled across these range rover seats on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649

They're proberly too big but its got me thinking if I were to fit some seats from say a jag or a rover what would the mot tester be looking for?

I guess anything has got to Be safer than the current mounting system in my mk3

All that matters is securing the front and back of the seats to the floor and cross member :proud:

...Might be more though but thats all I know

Cheers conlad

I guess four bolts through the floor would be sufficient then, I might have to butcher some sub frames to do it though

Does anyone know if there's more to it?

I have seats from an Alfa GTV in mine, so different altogether :D

I had custom subframes made up of plain steel

Normal cross member mountings then on the rear just two bolts through the floor

as long as drivers seat moves back and forwards, and all seats are secure at the front and back you should be golden :)

Just googled your sets they look fricking awesome...!!!!

Do you have any pics of your mounts?

How do you find getting to the back seats? It's a struggle at the best of times with the normal seats is it ok with your Alfa seats?

Thanks Alex, I didn't really think about the fact they need to be adjustable, kinda makes sense

I love the idea of having heated leather seats in the mini

They look quality conlad

The standard back seats aren't secured at all aren't they? It's been so long since I took them out I can't remember

So I guess the rear seats don't have many requirements at all

Loving this idea now, can really do something with the interior for relatively no money,

To reupholster some standard single post headrest mini seats it'll be about £500 to do out in leather this is a much cheaper option
