Zipper Run 2013 in aid of The Ann Conroy Trust

on

Sunday, 18th August 2013

Chasewater, Lichfield to Coventry Transport Museum

We will meet at Chasewater around 9:30am and we hope to make our way to Coventry at roughly 10:15am.

In convoy we will travel down the A5, roughly 34 miles to the museum.

The lovely museum staff will greet us and help us park safely at the front of the building where our Minis will be on display.

Coventry Transport Museum, is a must for any motor enthusiast, but especially for Mini fans. Inside you will find a tribute to The Italian Job, and the famous tunnel scenes which were filmed in Coventry. But the bonus being the free entry into the museum.

I have space for 60 minis and I really hope I can fill them. Registration will be required to prevent disappointment on the day. I will update with the details, but you can find out more info by joining our Facebook group by searching Zipper Run 2013 or send me a message.

All I am asking for is a £10 donation and you bring something with you to put under your Mini if its likely to have an oil leak.

This is one stipulation of the museum that I cannot avoid.

We will be holding a raffle on the day to help with the fund raising. Several Mini companies have kindly agreed to donate prizes.

Ydrolina.net kindly designed our fantastic logo.

I have a very rare neurological/brain condition called Chiari Malformation and Syringomelia, which went undiagnosed for many years. Without the fantastic help from one doctor who saved my life and prevented being permanently paralysed.

At the age of 21 facing brain surgery or the above two were scary.

I hope to raise funds to help train other doctors and nurses, so children get the help they need when they complain of headaches. Syringomelia can be linked to whip lash, and as a motoring fanatic this especially hit home how lucky I had been. People with Chiari are fondly known as the the Zipper Heads after they go through decompression surgery, hence the name of our charity event.

You can find more information on the charity at: www.britishsyringomyelia-chiarisociety.org
