There are other things to think about, cages can cause more damage in a slow speed accident if your head managed to hit it. So you need to make sure your well strapped in and your head cannot get near to the cage as well as having roll cage padding around the areas of both driver and passenger heads. The mounting points of the cage need to be super strong, no rust/ corosion as theres no point of having the cage if its just going to pull out of the floor!
Many places sell safety devices cages, www.minispares.com etc etc.
Hope this is helpful

The safest option and the only option I would go for would be one thats FIA certified. Go to either Safety Devices or Roll Centre, no one else.
Cost for a full cage is about £600 for a Safety Devices, think Roll Centre are slightly cheaper.
As for someone to fit it, ring Bill Richards Racing (01233 624336, tell em James with the 1425 sent ya ) in Ashford. I'm pretty sure Lee will be able to fit it for you, not sure on price.

If they are too much money (although they will to a top notch job) then try Manne Hutte in Broadstairs (01843 582718). They are a garage right next to Manstead airport. They might be able to fit it.
A quick Yahoo search revealed Roll Centre's website!

No one said that they are better just because they are well known, but they are definitely better than all the show cages out there, plus the fact that they have FIA approval doesn't count for nothing!why do people bang on about safety devices being better ect ect

And I've never had a problem with there door bars!

Another option to the prefabricated roll-cages is to go for a custom made job.
This is something I am seriously considering, as it means I can have the cage installed perfectly in my car, aligning properly with my seats etc.
This is a more expensive option, but it's being done by an outfit that specialises in fitting race spec rollcages.
Their cost for a fully fitted 6 point (custom) rollcage will be about £950, including VAT.
If you're interested, then you can check them out at: Robinson Racing
I figured this might be a slightly better option ahead of paying about £500 - £600 for a prefabricated cage that might not fit my mini perfectly, and then have to spend another £250 or so to install it (which is the guide price Bill Richards Racing just quoted me over the phone to them).
I'd be glad to hear anyone's thought on this...

You can take it back to them (if they don't fit it) and they'll FIA certify it too.
