Hi Guys,
I actually posted on another thread about my Exhaust being ripped off by a hidden gate railing. Now Im dropping my Cooper in on Monday to an exhaust specilist to reattach it but Im thinking of removing the Cat at the same time. Whats involved here and does the Lumda sensor need reattaching as it snapped ? Sorry if this is pretty basic question but I have no experience with this.
Many Thanks from flooding sydney !

And this

or this original to replace the downpipe if it got damaged.

The oxygen sensor is located on the exhaust manifold.

Thanks again for your help ! The link pipe seems an easy item for an exhaust specialist to make up. So nothing else is needed then ?

That should be it. The oxygen sensor is not affected by any of this. Look in the picture, its on the exhaust manifold just above the studs for the down pipe.

Thanks very much - I dropped my Coop off and they guy was pretty cool and said it was not an issue to remove the cat. Pick her up tomorrow I think so will let you know if I feel any more power output. Should be worth a few BHP. You could see where the exhaust caught too ! Yep, RIGHT on the cat so another good reason to get rid of it.

Doubt youll feel any more power, and hand out ear plugs to the pedestrians.... if your in sydney Aus, pop in the Mercentile at the rocks, go to room 6 and see if i left $20 under the bed
