Sounds like its the motor at fault,a strip down & refurb may be in order.

Probably not the motor, if the washers are also dying, but I would not completely rule out both motors dying, as coincidences do happen. However I would suggest a dirty or corroded fuse, or its connections, or the incoming connection to the switch. The feed from the fuse to the switch is light green-orange. Other things share the earth so if everything else is working, that can probably be ruled out.

ic ic ..will have to check on the connections after this and see if any of it has corroded.. i suspect the wiper motor connector might be corroded

Does the heater blower motor work? If not, all these items are on fuse 3:

3 and 4 25 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Horn, headlight flasher, brake failure circuit, radio memory. These systems operate independently of the ignition switch
5 and 6 25 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Heater blower motor, windscreen wipers/ washers, instruments. These systems will operate with the ignition switch at position I or ll

okay silly me.. turns out fuse 5-6 was blown.. impossible to catch as the fuse looks near perfect..no signs of a blown fuse.. and it wasn't a contact problem either.. so weird.. anyways thanks to all..cheers
