So im starting to think about replacing my rear subby and everything is going to be a hurdle.

Today i tried to remove my exhaust.

And i just can't.

I don't want to take it off the block and remove the manifold.. I just want to slide the pipe off the back of the manifold.. but it probably hasnt been off in ten years.

Its loose and i sprayed the ******* out of it with WD40 then gave it a good pull

It just aint budging.

Does this mean im gonna be getting under the car with a dremel and cutting it off?

Any hints.

also been spraying my rear subframe mounting bolts with release oil for like 3 months they are still stiff. Don't want to really bit them hard untill the rear subby is really ready to come off any tips on removing these? I reckon the heads will snap off pretty much instantly when i start...

Are you sure the exhaust hasnt been welded? Try using a rubber mallet, pulling it will only make the manifold flex. If no avail, remove the manifold.

For removing the subframe mounting bolts, Tighten them up a tad, then loosen it, then tighten it then loosen it e.t.c.

How do you hammer the exhaust? just hammer it from the side like bang it around a bit..

Also with the subby bolts tighten them before i loosen them? sounds counter intuitive|?

Yep tighten first, not too much about 1/8 to a 1/4 of turn if you think it can go that far, It kind of "breaks the seal". Gradually work the threads bit by bit until the bolt freely move. But take your time.

our exhaust was a right pain to remove too.

Resorted to abit of heat, and another round of tug of war and it gave up.

Just be careful to where about's your pointing the blow torch!
