I have a new end bearing for the first motion shaft (The one that sits in the transfer case.)
I am having trouble getting it off. The haynes manual says to use a puller, I have one but its too big, or to use two screw driver...How??

Am I right in the bearing should not be to hard to remove, But mine does not budge! (And yes I have removed the circlip!)

Any ideas, A bit of heat?

Thanks

The puller is the only way, also try heating it up and then try pulling it out, that should work. If your puller is too big, you will need to buy another one mate, there a set of puller in Toolstaion for about £18 or so.

Hopefully this helps mate

normally the outer race is the problem to remove,

I find whacking them so the bearings come off the middle bit, then using one of these works well.

failing that gently grind a flat on the side of it almost down to the shaft ( pausing to let it cool) when your pretty close to being through pull it off, it will com much easier.

Knock back the locktab and undo the nut - you'll run out of thread eventually but it starts to pull the race off enough to get a puller behind it.
