the mini is having a new half floor pan and new sills both side next week, I was just wondering whether the genuine panels from mini spares are good quality?, as I can just pop in and get them as oppposed to waiting for other companies to deliver.

Ideally I wanted to use M-Machine as I have heard good things about them, any idea what their delivery time is like?

also if anyone can tell me exactly what panels I will need to do the sills and half floor for my 92 mayfair that would be great,
ALSO the driver's side wheel arch/bulkhead is rotten all the way up, do they do a panel for this?

Matt

If by genuine minispares you mean BMH panels, then yes they are excellent compared to most. They ,ay still need some fettle mg but far less than some of the pattern ones (magnum door step springs to mind- what profile is it?, sure ain't from a mini)

You need either a half inner wing or a flitch panel depending on how far the rust has gone. BMH panels are without doubt the best but are expensive.

M Machine make a lot of their own stuff and is also very good but they also buy in some panels. Magnum is hit or miss and you do need to remove the paint covering as its rubbish.

You can buy a complete half floor section including inner sill from M machine, their 4" short sill is very very good as well (both made by them) . Fitted a pair of outers to Paddy.
To do the inner sill floor section properly you will need to remove the companion bin on that side. This will allow you access to the inner sill where it is welded to the inner sill stiffener. Also attached to the inner sill both ends is the slinging mount bracket, at the rear is also the the heelboard mount bracket. This has the sling point bracket welded to it, then there is also the jacking point as well.

When you order from M Machine ask them if the panels are in stock, if so they are very quick. Apart from one panel i have had next day delivery.

You can get them,

http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Body/Panel/Repair/ADA36002RH.aspx?030703&ReturnUrl=/search/classic/Floor.aspx|Back%20to%20search

Not cheap but save a lot of work. You can also get the whole floor,

http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Body/ADA36002E.aspx?03&ReturnUrl=/search/classic/Floor.aspx|Back%20to%20search

I haven't fitted one of those but my mate has and it seems easier than I thought it would and looks much better than my bitzer approach.

my budget won't stretch to a whole floor, and it really is only the driver s side that has rotted out (previous owner fitted oversills!!!!),

sorry my answer wasn't very clear at all.

the rust is all the way inside the wheelarch, as in it goes from the bottom of the floor/sill upwards

You may just need a flitch repair panel then.

If you get some pics up people will be able to give a better idea of which panels to go for. Some repairs ones aren't made by BMH so it can be a matter of mix and match.

I've bought various panels from m-machine and have no complaints. Its been mostly heritage panels I've been sent so they've been very good. I live up in the Shetland Isles, 14hr ferry from Aberdeen, and they've always had quick delivery.
