Hi,
Ive been on here for a few years now, and just bought a new mini project. I have bult one each year for the last 2 years but this will be my first automatic mini.
I wanted to service the car straight away i just wondered if someone could tell me how to oil change the Gear box and also, how do i do it pelase?
Also when it comes to selling the mini does an automatic mini put buyers off?

i would always choose a manual over an auto.
as for the oil change isnt it the same as normal?

There are quite a few areas that are different to the manual.....
You will need 9 pints of oil to top it up after a full drain, you can't get any more out without a full strip down.
A new filter for an automatic, get a small oil filter seal for under the head of the filter bolt washer, got some if you need one.
dont forget to make sure the oil level is correct.
Then its adjustments... sort out the engine first, get it running to the correct spec, speed is also very important at this stage as well, get that wrong and you will probably fry your box.
Check that the selector is set correctly.
Once this is done then adjust the governor control rod
road test and if necessary go through the steps again.

PS in most cases Manual will win on price, however you probably bought it for less than a similar manual, and you will probably sell itfor slightly less than a comparable manual when the time comes to sell...
