has anyone ever changed the rear panel as i am planning to change it but want to know how bad they are to change

any help appriecated

Ok this is a job i have to do on Paddy but should be straight forward.

Remove the fuel tank first.

Remove the boot lid, lights and rear glass window. Offer up the new panel and mark across the top.

Then cut at least 1/4" below the marked line. Drill out the spot welds on both of the rear quarter to rear panel flanges and the boot floor / rear panel / valance.

Offer up the new panel and make a new mark which should be your final cut line. Trim this off until you get a 1mm gap right across the top.

Now you can either plug weld or spot weld the new panel in place. The upper section i would pulse weld.

luckily i am retsoring my mini so it is a shell and its having boot floor repair and valance so it should be quite straight foward
