Hi there!
My name's Olly, and as the title suggests, I'm 17 and a first time driver. I live in Higham, Kent
In February, I bought a 1984 Yellow City for £700, that I have named George Michael.
I haven't passed my driving test yet, and since one of Footman James requirements is a full lisence, he is currently uninsured and undriven.
He's just had some work done by a friend's dad, who works at Double Dee Autos. Brakes unseized, New Ball Joints, new subframe mounts, a big weld in the boot pan and new exhaust brackets: total £250
I'm hoping to do a proper restoration in the summer, despite knowing very little about cars past what i've come to know in the last 4 months, having no money, and no more suitable place to work than a narrow pebbled drive, as well as parents who remain thoroughly soured faced at the thought of me even owning a mini, let alone pulling it to bits! About 5 mins walk down the road there's 4 mini's owned in the space of 3 or so houses, so hopefully i'll pluck up the courage to talk to them one day and hopefully get a biit of helpy help from them!
So that's me, any questions?

George Michael because
1) The number plate is AHOY, so it was either GM or Sailor Boy.
2) Everyone has a giggle when they hear it.
3)George Michael also happens to be a character in "Arrested Development", which is a cracking show!

Don't listen to your parents, he's lovely. Did they ever have amini when they were young???
Let them take it for a drive, they'll soon change their minds.
I too was a little worried by the name But yes, it did make me chuckle.
