I've never heard of the word ferrule before today, but anyway I think the 'ferrule' is being pushed against the 'grommet' by the spring so my question is answered ;-)

What grommet ?

Yes very funny ha ha ha........ maybe a ban is in order ;) the reason why we ask for correct spellings is so that people can search for an issue and find it easier...

The membership also has a lot of foreign members and the issue is the same here, they would be very frustrated trying to find information to keep their Minis on the road.

So please check your spellings, spell checker is there for a reason :-)

I didnt know the word ferrule was in the spell checker ? is it not better to give accurate information rather than pull someone up on a spelling mistake? boy your touchy on the ban button ok so your the chief honcho your loss not mine. I not asking to be banned and done lots for this site with accurate information if the spelling is not word perfect then sorry my use of the english language is not up to par, i'm not a english teacher but a mechanic and auto electrician.

I would not ban you or anyone for spelling mistakes, you'll also find that I am more easy going than some others .... please read it again it was meant in good humour, however the internet is full of spell checkers and you have spelt it 3 different ways chap :(

I have noticed you have added good information elsewhere on this forum :)

Yes, we have American members who have 'fenders' instead of 'wings', 'trunks' instead of 'boots', 'rotors' instead of 'discs', and so on, but we get by (don't know how!).
Don't worry about spelling mistrakees.
It's unsafe advice we don't like, as in fitting 165 tyres onto 8" wide wheels, or whatever.

Sightly off topic but the pictures of the crusing scene with wide rims and skinny tyres is shocking

Cant find it now Martin, its was some stuff someone sent me of slammmed polos with 8inch rims and 160 width tyres. it was dangerious as the tyres were ready to roll off the beads, they put different wheels on for the MOT.

Bit like the old days on the banded steels of 6inch and people used to run 145/10 sterling remoulds on them, long as they kept the body off the floor was all it mattered.

way off the OP topic now but you get the jist
