clean... dry, autoglym metal polish... or whatever polish you want... small clean rag or leather... apply small amount of metal polish to all of rocker cover, a thin even smear in circular motion... make sure you get right between the fins... take the cap off too to get right o the edges... once its all "hazed" buff it off with clean leahter or rag...

Clean and then autosol the **** out of it :P

You can get drill attachments that will speed up the process.

You could paint it black and just polish the highlights

Circular motions on a rag are more likely to inflict scratches than anything. You should only use Microfibre Towels, and only in straight lines.

oh, when i say rag i only EVER EVER MEAN microfibre... good for everything those things :)no need for straight lines if its a clean rag and a clean surface then you'll be fine. plus most of the lines down the grooves will be straight so you wont have to much scrubby scrubby

Ian.....

When polishing and leaving a haze you lift off old dirt and corrosion, so wiping it off in circles and rubbing it into the surface in circles defeats the point of polishing it....

didnt say wipe it off in circular motions... i said put it on with circular motions... difference! difference i say! plus microfibres move rubbish and grit to the back of the pile as they clean...

Drill attachment mop and compound, autosol just doesnt give the same effect.

Did you take a picture in 8-Bit or did you upload it to photobucket, both are known to result in an Image quality like that! ;D

I have been polishing ally since my first moped in 88, don't waste money of special cloths, its a load of rubbish. The only thing that can scratch ally is anything HARDER than ally, therefore unless you wear diamond shirts then any old rag will do. I find torn up old t shirts to be best. Don't worry in what direction you polish, but nice gentle movements are best, whether in as straight line or round and round. A drill mounted kit with 'soap' makes a big difference if you are going to do a lot.
