Hi all,
Just a quick question..
Can an MPI interior be fitted into a 1987 Mini? By that I mean everything.. Seats, Steering wheel, gearstick?
Thanks

I'm hesitant about this. As far as I know the Mpi came with airbags as standard, which include sensors and exlosives and stuff for setting off the airbags at just the right time. Saying that, the seats shouldn't be a problem, but I don't think the steering wheel will work.

I think I read somewhere (from Dan IIRC) that the steering wheel and stalks will work on the MPi column, but not on the "standard" column. Also, for the airbag wheel, youd either need the control system (not sure if its in the ECU, or in a seperate "box") or to have it professionally disarmed.

The column for MPI's is smaller in diameter than the original ones so you will need to use the whole steering column if you want to use the switch gear (either that or modify the mounting collar on the switches!)
And as stated, if you keep the steering wheel then get it disarmed!
seats, door cards and all other interior items will fit ok

bit of a bugger as it's the steering wheel I like!
Will have to revise what I want then.
Cheers all for that. A great help.
