You'll also need new hubs for discs and maybe drive shafts.....best thing is to keep an eye on ebay and something like http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f226f5200 then buy the new pads and discs as in your link.

But if you want 10" wheels - you might be best off getting the complete 7.5 " conversion kit which is about £500

You would need to get new drives shafts, flanges, hubs, discs and pads and all the ancillary items that go with that.

It may just be easier for you to convert to 7.5" discs and use 10" wheels as you can buy this as a whole kit from Minispares:

http://www.minispare...|Back to search

Though the callipers are out of stock at the moment, there will be more in early march. Hope this helps. Noah.

Edit - Forgot to mention, a TMF+ Discount will give you a 7.5% discount from Minispares. So its worth investing in the £5 for a subscription. Giving you a discount of around £30 on the brakes. I think. I'd check, my maths isn't that great.

They will but you only have the service parts in that set, not all the bits you need to swap the brakes on the car. You need new hubs, new CV joints, new drive flanges, callipers, brake lines and all the nuts, bolts, bearings and parts that hold it together.

Drum driveshafts from a 1981 car (with pot joints) will be fine with discs.

You just need a bog standard set of 1983 onwards 8.4" disc brakes, hubs, pipes and calipers as you would find on fleebay etc. Buy new calipers if you are unsure how to check and and fit new seals to a used set. This will probably start world war three but vented discs on a road going mini are a waste of time and money and yes I have used them.( more unsprung weight, more bump steer, less feel ) Also stick to genuine AP lockheed pads and avoid ebc greenstuff and similar as despite the hype they are vague until they warm up and feel worse than a well set up drum brake around town.

Plenty of people do, try PM'ing, MiniJosh92 on here, he sells lots of Minispares.

Explain to him what you think you need and what you are unsure of and he'll be able to help!

You can easily do it inside £200. Given a full refurb there will be no difference really, the expensive parts of the conversion packs are the new core items, the hubs and callipers. If you get a complete used setup then you should get new ball joints, bearings, possibly CVs but definitely taper washers, hub nuts & split pins and CV gaiters, hoses, discs and pads. Won't cost the Earth and isn't hard to do. Also I have to agree with what's said above about Greenstuff and vented or other exotic discs, but there are other options that offer a significant upgrade from standard pads.

Yep they look good though, I'd sell on the bearings and replace them with original TIMKEN items. Unless they're are original which I highly doubt!

I found my green stuff pads and cross drilled discs worked much better than standard( ESPECIALLY when cold). But they are 7.5 inch though. Superb stopping power, but of course tyre choice is important as well.

Seeing as your car is a 81 and 12inch wheels didn't come to minis until 84 you could go classic and have 10s with the 7.5 Cooper disc conversion.
