Dealers should be checking their vehicles are HPI clear anyway so just request to see the certificate.

I'd say it depends on the dealer, one man Arthur Daleys are little better than private sellers if they cease trading to avoid paying out on customer claims. Ask who's underwriting any warranty you're offered. Super low mileage isn't impossible for a 2nd car or old folks shopping buggy, but go off condition. You could argue it's pointless paying a premium for it if you are going to wipe out any low miles resale value in a couple of years of long distance commuting.

I certainly would be working along those lines. Don't assume low mileage = problem free, rubber suspension bushes perish with age and not just mileage

Now the proud owner of my mini, to be collected on Friday
Managed to get the car fully serviced through mini dealership and the service history updated. I rang the BMW hlp line thingy (£1 per minute!) to make sure there had been no re calls on the car. Checked the HPI cert and the MOTs etc. Happy with the px amount offered. Took the man with me too!
Happy days, thought I would let you know so that all your help was not in vain :)))

Just to put you at ease, although slightly over priced for a One, if the mileage is genuine then its an Ok price. Does it have any pack on it? IE Salt, Pepper ect. Air con comes with the Salt pack. You will be fine with the gearbox as all cars manufactured after July 04 have the stronger Getrag 5 speeed box and not the crappy Midland gearbox that is known for failing. The electric steering pump is generically noisy, they whine when you turn the steering wheel. The engines are generally strong units as it is a Chrysler unit. If your after a bit of extra power, a simple remap will see it go from 90 bhp to ( in most cases ) over 125, making it quite nippy for what it is.

If you want more info ( and lots of friendly advice ) log onto www.minisunleashed.com , lots of advice and info on there for you.

Cheers
