i'm trying to remove the front sub frame and the engine in one go but i cannot free the steering wheel column from the body of the car, i've taken everything off the column except for a clip at the base of the column but it seems to be stuck and i can't remove it or i don't know how to remove it, does anyone know how to remove this clip or another way of disconnecting the steering column from the wheels? i've undid the nuts connecting the steering rack to the wheels but the bolts would not come out so i'm unsure of how to proceed, any help would be much appreciated!!

you need a ball joint splitter:

That should separate those joints from the steering arms. You don't need to remove the rack from the car to take the subby out.
