Normally you don't need to drop the frame but I assume you have the zcars tubular setup, but as the mini rack is small I would do it tthe same way as a normal front subframe, remove the bolts to the bottom rear of the subframe and slacken or completely remove the tower bolts, support the frame with a jack and lower until enough clearance

Cheers
David

I got mine out without dropping S/frame bolts. If you can remove the u-bolts holding the rack it makes it easier, then turn the rack so as to ensure the splined pinion rod doesn't foul against body work, then its pretty straight forward. Does your rack mount to the frame or the body? Mine mounts to the frame.....

Hi thank you for the info the rack it fixed via 2 u bolts to the frame the bolts are accessible i am changing the existing rack just in case their is any problems after the impact. I have ordered a 2.2 quick turn rack is this advisable?

joss, the rack does come out with the subframe in place. take both 'U' bolts off, remove the bolt for the UJ, then roll the steering rack clockwise and downward at the same time (if you are looking in from the drivers side) if push comes to shuv, you might need to slacken the 4 grub screws in the steering column bearings and pull the column upwards into the car to get the UJ off. but im confident that you will manage without touching the column.

let us know how you get on
