getting started on a rebuild of a 1275 mg metro stripped the block of and given it a degrease , how do i tell if it needs a rebore or a hone and if it is a good block to use . the bore look good and only have minor surface rust they feel smooth and seem to have the cross marking still is this good . And the only thing i can see on the outside of the block there is a tiny hole that goes through shown in picture but does not go into block look to go from side of surface block to the underside bit will this be ok .

one of the bores is showing signs of where the piston/rings picked up and in my mind its going to need more than a hone, have you measured the bore to see if its been bored before? std bore on the 1275 is 70.61mm

yes have measured the bores and it is a standard bore block so would going to the next size up 1293 be ok is there any gain going 1310 or 1330 power wise .
