Started refurbishing my trailing arms today. Removed the old bearing and bush then had a go at drifting in the new bush, and nearly destroyed it! Want to suss out a better way to do it before I do the second one. Was thinking to pop the bush in the freezer for a couple of hours then heat up the arm where the bush goes in, would this make things easier or am I talking pants? Any better methods guys?

Long piece of threaded bar and a couple of thick penny washers (wide ones - you can use the old thrusts). Put the bar though the arm with a washer and nut each end and tighten the nuts to draw the bearing in

If you don't have suitable bar you can use the old pin, be sure to remove some material from the end before using it to fit the bush though as it'll grip the bar as you pull it in otherwise

If you're struggling to fit the bush, are you sure you will be able to ream it to size in a straight line ?
