hi i want to remove some black dash rails from another mini and reuse them in mine but how do you remove them? do i need to fit the front windscreen before refitting the top one or can it be done before? thanks tom

I managed to get mine out without damage the top one that is, 3 bolts, one at each and and one in the centre. then its a lot of yanking. I pulled one end up and then sort of kicked the other end up and it just sorta popped out
Bottom one I think needs the switches and choke cable disconnected and the chrome locking strip removed and then pulls off.

ok cheers did you have to remove the clocks and etc out the way?

To get the top one, nope.
I've not removed the bottom one as only a small bit of the top dash rail is being painted.

oo ok would you fit the top one after the windscreen is fitted or could you fit it now and then fit the windscreen after? cheers tom

Fit the top one then fit the windscreen, you can get them out with the windscreen in, not so easy getting it back in.

ok mate cheers ile fit the top dash rail first then the windscreen cheers
