Ok so i'm having a bit of trouble with my ICE build, i got two Vibe blackbox 2 channel amps second hand. one of which works perfectly the other has no output. so to try and get the the source of the problem i've opened up the amp and there is a blown resistor.

first question, is it likely that this blown resistor is stopping any output from the amp so will replacing it fix the problem?

second question, what might have caused this burn out so i can prevent it in the future?

the picture below shows the blown resistor:

thanks for any advice.

Well if thats the only resistor which is gone then solder in a replacement of the same value and try the amp, difficult to say why a single resistor burns out, with amps its more often than output transistors which give the most problem, maybe a rogue resistor?

In response to your question about the resistor stopping the amp from working, its part of the amps circuit and any components beyond the resistor are out of the circuit so answer yes it would stop the amp from working.
