Job uncertainty and developing a heart murmur means I have to slow down under doctors orders therefore I have to let this go.
In all honesty I don't want to let this go and I'm in no rush to accept silly offers. If it doesn't sell as a whole after a couple of months I may end up breaking it.
It is a rolling project at the moment
The mini itself
1978 1275 GT shell with Logbook included. Shell requires one small patch welding on floor pan as I cut it out because I thought the previous repair looked ugly. Other than that the shell requires no welding at all. No dents and such to any bodywork at all.
The rear bench and rear bins have been removed but none of the main structure. The rear bench has been hole sawed by previous owner but I was going to fabricate a sheet to weld over the top or buy a carbon fibre one to bond over the top. The shell comes with rear cage mounts welded in place. 2 doors are included with the shell
Roll Cage
This is the top spec safety devices bolt in roll cage. I believe it has 18 mounting points and double door bars. Some of fitting kit welded in place and rest is supplied. Powder coated in red. There are a couple of scratches here and there from fitting. God knows why they come in nice powder coat as its impossible to not scratch them during installation.
Anyway all the info is here with regards to cage - http://www.safetydev...-1959-2001/361/
Engine
The engine is from a 2003 MGZR 160 with 41,274 guaranteed with paperwork. The engine was heard running prior to removal and even driven along with the pg1 gearbox. It ran sweet as a nut and had crystal clear coolant (well orange as per coolant colour but you get my drift). It was moved from a lady owners rear end shunted write off. All components and ancillaries included including ecu, fob and wiring plugs.
The only negative on the engine is a slight leak on the gasket under the rocker cover. I will include 1 rocker cover gasket, 1 full timing belt kit, 1 water pump, wynns gasket maker so there's everything needed there.
Front subframe
Front subframe is from a metro gti in very good condition. Only some surface rust and a bit greasy. Side mount plates have been made and are currently mounted. Frame has top hats welded in place professionally for the Watsons suspension setup.
Included on the frame are as follows; Watsons suspension, metro gti rack, brand new metro gti wishbones, brand new genuine rover upper arms and pins. Fully refurbished metro gti hubs with new bearings and ball joints. Engine and gearbox mounts to suit engine. 2 driveshafts to suit.
Other parts
Arc angels fibreglass clubman front end and bonnet, just a few storage marks.
Full rear subframe and running gear, was going to refurb but didn't get that far.
Non injection fuel tank
Metro steering column, wheel and stalks
Metro alloy wheels
Watsons rear spacers as new, includes 16 rover genuine wheel nuts
I have totted all the bits up and it comes to just under £3000. I probably would get more from breaking it however I'd hope to see someone complete it.
I will add pictures when my pc is working properly. Until then there is my build diary. Any questions please fire away.
£2000 for the lot!
