Thread revival.

Re: Quinton Hazell - I see they appear to be 'back in business', can anyone confirm if this is really Quinton Hazell like they were prior to going belly up a few years back or has someone just bought the name?

Back in Feb 2013....

"The Mochdre (Wales) site was opened by Eric Quinton Hazell in 1946, manufacturing ball joints and steering components. At its peak in the 1950s and 60s, QH sold to more than 160 countries worldwide

The intellectual property rights relating to the Quinton Hazell Automotive business were sold to Tetrosyl I-Tec, which owns brands such as T-Cut car polish. Administrators also reached an agreement to sell the Klarius emissions business, based at Cheadle, to Klarius Products."

QH now appears to be part of JP Group as mentioned above:-

OK, thanks for the info guys. Good to see the Name is in someone's hands, but let's hope they have it and are using it for the right reasons.

Does it seem like the QH of 'old' or just reboxed second rate stuff?

Turning circle was always the "budget" option offered to us instead of a better make

The old QH factory site has been splt into twenty plus business's including one making water pumps using the original QH machinery. I work in what was their canteen building which we bought in 2004 and converted into an office and sheetmetal factory. Back then before they were bought by Klarius they were importing steering joints etc and rebranding as QH products though their pump production carried on until they closed. The factory is built on a pre-war landfill site but its rumoured that there's a number of American willy's jeeps buried under the factory!
