As above does anyone know what type of bolt they are. I've lost all my original ones so I can't find out :(

I'm on about the ones that hold it to the flywheel by the way

I've already had a look at it, they're part 25, not a lot of info unfortunately :/

I need to know the thread type, size etc so i can buy longer ones for my flywheel puller

They are 5/16 UNF.

Depending upon the puller you'll need to get some about 3 to 4 inches long, and use a big flat thick washer under the head on the puller...

I actually use cap head screws

Umm, if you've lost them and need to use a puller does this mean you have removed all the bolts from the torque converter while it's fitted to the car?

Umm no, what gave you that idea? haha

I removed the bolts just before we moved house, so they're probably in a box somewhere. The engine's been sitting in my garage for 10 months, so i decided It's better in bits than to just end up as one seized lump. the crank is useful to me as well :)

<< That engine in my photo is the auto

if you removed all 6 bolts then you have a 99.99% certainty of destroying your convertor, there are stator plates, shims and seals that these bolts hold in place and they always move.

So whenever you remove a torque conveter you destroy it?

to remove a torque converter, you only need remove 3 of the 6 bolts holding the converter together.

Ahh okay, oh well, it wasn't going to run again anyway.

Which three should I have undone?

so the bolts just hold the converter together, you take three out for the puller, and the converter is held on by a taper?

yup, same as the flywheel on a manual, as they both fit on the same crank.
