Shouldn't take that long.

I've given up on quite a few companies due to their awful E-mail responses. Newton Commercial always reply quickly.

I'm normally quite impatient, so I will spam a company with emails until they reply... it's the only way with some people to be honest!

Not so long ago people used phones to place orders, maybe give that a try.

Totally agree, if I want something then I ring them up. Emails are a pain, especially if you have question.

Retro Retrims took ages to reply to my emails, I had to keep chasing via phone.
The quality of work was good, but wasn't too happy with the lack of response at the time

I dont want to be seen defending anything here because "no news" can often mean bad things are happening.
However, it can be quite difficult to answer all emails in a timely manner. Companies only have a certain resource - they can often be left with the choice of answering emails or doing the work that pays their bills.
It is very easy for websites to look very glossy and you are left with the impression that they have loads of resource/staff when they don't. Coupled with our modern "instant/want it now" attitude, this can often lead to frustration.
I am a big believer in using small companies where I can.
If word of mouth says they do a good job it may be worth giving them a break and use the 'phone if you have any doubts. If a fast response is all you want, go to a company that has dedicated admin staff and pay extra for their overheads. This wont necessarily mean you get a better job at the end of the day though.

Check under your bed, I always find a few coppers under my bed. Every little helps and all that.

If a company puts an e-mail address as a means of contact, then they should do everything to answer it in a timely manner. If they dont have the staff, or resources to answer them, then dont state it as a point of contact!

When it comes to contacting small craft companies, i always opt for email out of courtesy.

Phones need to be answered and phoning often interrupts the day to day tasks. Emails can be answered at a more convenient time. But 5 days to respond is just rudeness.

How long does it take to say "Hi Mr P. we are extremely busy at the moment, but we are working on your query." job done!
