Hi all. I need your help. I purchased two new chrome wipers the other day. Fitted but one of them doesnt do the job properly. Swithed the sides over but does the same thing, so it isnt the wiper. Tried to bend the arm to get more pressure to clear the screen but thaf hasnt helped.

What could this be, and what would I need to do to fix it?

A new arm maybe or a wiper box?

Any help would be great, thanks

My wipers were exactly the same when I changed them. I got so fed up with fiddling with them and getting no where that I just left them but they have gotten slightly better over time. Maybe I'm wrong but could they just need kind of 'worn in' for the blade to loosen up a bit or did you only change the arms?

Okay, ill give it some time to bed in, as such. Then ill look into a new arm.
No, I only changed the wipers. They work great on the passenger side, just not the drivers side, where I most need it to work.
So its just the arm or the wiper box, it could be then?

Hmm, is the small nut, that pulls the small splined shaft that the wiper arm connects to, tight? It might not be pulled through enough and therefore not getting enough purchase? Or if the splines on the shaft are chewed up then that would mean the arm wouldn't be able to give a good 'wipe'. Just a thought?

Be careful with the nut because the threads can easily strip on the spindle.

To be honest, I havnt checked the nut. But it does feel like the arm feels loose on the wiper box, as if the spines were chewed up. Ill give it a thorough look over, thanks

Mini sport I bought them from, and I couldnt tell you if they were the heavy duty version. I mean I would ask mini sport why it could be, but they havnt replied to my last email regarding some seals, so it would be pointless in contacting them for replacements

Let us know how you get on mate. I had to replace my rack the other week because it was chewed to pieces and my wipers were useless and fell off constantly!
