Ive got a 998 Moke and I having trouble working out the firing order for the dissy, ive found the compression stroke on the 1st but the rotor arm dosnt seem to line up at 2oclock like I've been told and is more 330ish? Is that a problem? Can I just line that up with the cap and go for it? Thanks

Wrong section.

1-3-4-2 firing order 1 being nearest the radiator.

Sounds like the dizzy drive behind the dizzy has been taken out and put back in a bit future round. As it goes in it turn as it meshes with a cog on the cam.

Set the engine to TDC on the compression stroke.
Remove the dizzy
Find one of long bolts the goes throw the lower rad mount it fits the thread in the centre of the drive, screw it in , Pull out the drive you will notice it will spin anti clockwise as it comes out. ( caution not to drop the drive shaft inside the engine. )
Once out turn it a bit move anti clockwise and reinsert. It will turn clockwise as it goes in. May take a few try's. But the slot in it should point at about 1-2 o clock.
Once in the right place remove the bolt and reinsert the dizzy. It will only fit the slot one way .
Once back in place the rotor arm should be pointing in the right place then you can follow the picture above.
Around 8-10 BTDC should get it to start.
