hi all bought some bullet mirrors for my mini and fitted. due to the fact that i cant see the passenger side one at all once in the car and the drivers one is highly magnified i get the feeling they are designed to be wing mounted. has anyone ever done this yet if so can i see pics before i turn my mini into a sieve, thanx.

to be honest they are hard to see out of even when mounted properly. it might just need a bit of tweaking to get them right (or buy normal mirrors)

Did you buy proper Mini door bullet mirrors or generic bullet wing mirrors, there's a big difference in the mounting. There is a mounting plinth available which can move generic mirrors into a better position on the door but if you have already re-drilled the door to take the mirrors it may be hard to fit as it uses the original Rover mountings.

Is the glass flat or convex? Flat glass is designed for the wing as you need to look at it from further away to be able to see the full field of view, convex glass allows the mirror to be brought closer and door mounted but distorts reality (hence 'objects in mirror are closer than they appear').

the ones to buy are the torpedo style ones with the plinths as they angle up so you can actually see them. some minis from 70's had these plinths as standard but u can still buy them from minispares.

Your first mistake!.

mini specialist

:(:teehee::lol::P:lol:;)

Chavvy bling specilist. Being from there, expect them to rust the second they see damp air.
