will be updating in big blocks haha
but pretty much ground up build in time for summer and IMM/L2B

mini is very solid with no rust so have just had a fresh coat of underseal
everything thats bolting on will pretty much be new or freshly reconditioned!
got most of the bits now!

cars garaged, alarmed, tracked and i sleep in the room right next to it with a baby monitor
OTT? nah its my baby lol

wont be posting pics up of the entire car until its done
i like to tease like that ;)

Rear subframe;

New subframe
fully adjustable rear camber brackets
Recon radius arms
bradied brake hoses
all new brake back plates, pads etc. etc.
Alloy mini fin drums & spacers
HI-LO suspension
lowered "race" coilspring conversion/ donut replacement (have got the same for the front)
Super-pro poly bushes front and rear
KONI adjustable sport shocks with polybush mounts

shiny new nuts and bolts all round!

Just to clarify, polybushes are harder than rubber and once you have put the silicone on it and pushed them into place
they just want to pop out!
I find it easiest to put the subby mount with polybushes attatched around the wheel stud and tighten the wheel bolt to press down
on the bushes evenly!

On to the front!
1275 is coming out (for sale for £495ono in the For Sale section!)
in favour for a 1293 turbo!

but first things first; subframe rebuild!
will be to a similar spec to the rear and go crazy with
Adjustable Camber arms
Super pro bushes
4 pot calipers and vented, grooved and drilled discs, good pads
new ball joints and bearings all round
Koni shocks
Hi-Lo
Coilspring donut conversion
Ally top bolt
braided hoses

subframe replaced or if its still in good nick shotblasted & painted

Got some brand new alleycat 13x7's with brand new yoko's on them by my beauuttiful gf for my birthday!

pics up in abit

arghhhh who deseamed it? surely not on an original cabby?

nah only kidding :D looks quite nice, you smoothing the bodykit arches in again or putting a seal between them and the body?

well spotted ;)
its been done well as its hardly noticeable (my gf spotted it before i did!)

tiger seal and smoothing to the body with as little fibreglass and filler as possible!

the reason for the rebuild is so many little bits needed doing to it and the rest wasnt too far behind
it just made sense to do the lot!

that coupled with the fact it got vandalised pretty badly
Cut roof and brake fluid over the bonnet and side wrecking the paintwork
gutted

The shell is rock solid though :D

shame some people have to damage others property, nice car and looks quite cool in white though

personally owning a cabriolet and knowing how much they flex about, i'd be ripping that kit off and refitting with a seal between it and the body as thats guaranteed to crack again within minutes, plus you get to have a good look behind it just in case anythings hiding :-) usually cabriolets are solid though as people tend to look after them

then it had the roof cut and brake fluid, colour was a one off and couldnt be matched :(

a brand new hood came up for sale but was red, didnt want a red car so am going white :)

was quite solid, the crack came from a trumpet SNAPPING! and collapsing the rear suspension!
along with the original engine blowing up which was replaced with a carb 3 yrs ago, a stud snapping, front ball joint going, rear brake bleed nipple seized
just needed so much doing!

was riveted together tiger sealed to the body and a tiny touch of filler in the gaps

could pick the car up from the body kit haha!

arhh dont, the money i've spent on this is ridiculous
but i'm never going to sell as i'm very attached so once its done its done

kept in a garage and taken out when the weathers nice so hopefully will last

will be a new car once im done so its a bargain :D
thats how im justifying it anyway :P

was going to be turbo'd 3 years ago thats how long ive had most of the kit!

Ok shell had to come up a lot higher than I first thought to clear the engine
Posted Image

Having pulled my back I couldn't heave out the engine and sub together and with only two people
Decided the best idea was to tow it out
Posted Image
:D
Going to strip the engine bay of everything and prep for paint :)
Subframe will be reconditioned early next week
