Brake Fittings Thread Size

hi i am replacing all my brake lines with braided ptfe lines i need to know what the thread sizes are for the rear brake cylinders the brake pressure regulator valve, as i need to get the right adapters for the hose ends

I think you'll find they are 3/8" UNF I made internal lines for mine with that size and the standard/non-standard all went together with no leaks.

The master cylinder/servo and ghastly taper nose 'pressure regulator' are M10 X 1

Incidentally, personal choice, on my mk1 which has a single line system, I sacked off the rear subby bias as I made my own lines too. Replaced it with a std T piece then ran the front to back line along the top of the tunnel inside the car. I then fitted an inline adjustable bias which I mounted to the top of the cross member between the hand brake & gear lever.

Why are you replacing them with these? Better off with solid lines

And you may also find M11 x 1 as well.

And if you have the yellow tag master cylinder the top outlet one is 10mm and the bottom one 12mm

Well done Dave, my post should have read M12 x 1mm sorry :-( I don't know why I put M11, as I just bought 100 M12 flare nuts :D

I did think M11 but as you learn something every day in this game I thought ok M11s out there as well
