why do you think they;re not correct after buying them?? surely the question should have been asked before...

What made me question myself is that it had oversills on which were far wider than the new ones. is it correct that the little corrugations are left open?
yep!

cheers guys. Is that why the oversills rot so bad because the flutes are closed?

Goooooood! looks like accidentally on purpose I've got teh right ones after all!
cheers guys. Is that why the oversills rot so bad because the flutes are closed?
Yes that's part of it but the real issue was they were normally welded over the old rotten sill so just sandwiching the rust and causing more destruction.

trapping moisture and salt ect so just a rusty accident waiting to happen?
Basically yes. The ones on Paddy were not fitted really well but at least the old ones were off. If they had added some waxoyl then there would have been minimal rusting if any.

Both of them are useless, because the welds on the lower edge will not be in the correct place to form a proper box section of adequate stiffness. It should be illegal to sell such things, which have no possible safe and legal use.
If you have a 6" or 9" sill, and it is the correct 0.9mm thickness (some cowboy bodger's parts are dangerously thinner), the best thing to do with it is to cut it down to the correct width before fitting it, or send it back for a refund because it is not fit for purpose.
