Hi all,
Doing a centre dash conversion and the new dials show 100K + on the clock. I've only done 67!
Is there a post somewhere that shows you how to change it?
I know this is somewhat frowned upon but its not for financial gain so I do not believe it is illegal.
Thanks in advance.

You have to take the whole speedo apart and remove the numbers, then rearrange them to the mileage you want.
Just be carefull to not damage it, its not an hard job at all.

I'm pretty sure it is illegal though, I did it years ago for the same reason, and I just remember the numbers being out of synch, ended up buying a new one with zero miles

Just take a picture of your old clock next to the new centre speedo working showing both "odometer" mileage counters. Then if you were to sell, you can calculate the correct mileage.
I don't believe it is illegal to change the speedo recording, however what is illegal is selling the car under false pretenses as the speedo says its only done "30k miles" where actually the car has done 80k miles etc.
From what I have read on the internet, if you dismantle the speedo and turn the numbers, you will not be able to get them to line up perfectly, so it will looks dodgey...i.e when it ticks over to 70,000 miles the 0's will not line up.
I would take a picture of both speedos or do what MRA said and get a speedo with 0 miles recorded if that bothers you.

I remember reading about it on here before, Apprently its only illigal if you are perposly trying to reduce the amount of miles in order to sell it as a vehical that has done less. IF its just matching that is fine.
Also, just a thought about it being out of sync. Did you spin the clock via the cable bit at the back to line them up before taking it apart & changing the reading. As I would think if you didn't and left it slightly out of line then changed it to all the numbers lined up it would eventually go out of sync like you said.
