Hi,
A couple of years ago I made a barbeque out of an old mini steely as an A-level project.
I've had a load of requests to make some more of these after I finished mine, but mainly I've not had time to do anything.

However, the second year of my course is gonna finish quite early this year and so, I might have time to make a few more, depending on if there's any interest, and if i can get hold of the tools I need.

Just as a very rough guideline, it cost me about £40 in materials to make this project.
If I made more, I'd have to charge more to also cover the hire of the tools that I'd require and the time I'd be spending making it.

So if any of you are still interested just let me know, if there's enough interest, I may make a few more this summer. :-)

Can't afford it, but that is fantastic. Very stylish. Must be good for an upmarket outlet somewhere.

Yeah I designed it with the London to Brighton in mind and used it last year camping at Crystal Palace, with Basingstoke Mini Club.
After we finished i just took off the wind shield and grill and we used it as a bonfire for the rest of the evening.

If you made it from a 7x10 banded steel and shortened the legs you could call it a hells flush BBQ...

Places don't like you burning the grass with BBQs so this would be ideal!

I could donate some 10 inch steels as a part exxhange

I was thinking i could take say a fiver off of the total price if people provided their own steelies,
I'd need 12" steels though I'm afraid

Thanks guys!

I got top marks for the actual barbecue, but i could never be bothered to put the work into the portfolio to accompany it, I ended up doing all the paperwork the day before it was due... :-P

I did take it to a the Festival of Science and Engineering at Brooklands thingy with my college and won the best engineering prize though :-D

I’ve got a few 12” steels you could have taking up space, as somehow I’ve ended up with a miss match of 12” steels. As there is 2 types, the one with the welded in spacer like the one you’ve used (the ones I’m after) and the ones minus the spacer.
