Hello, right I have a 1974 mini 1000 heavily modified but that should be irrelevant.

The problem I'm having is that my right hand side indicators work fine but the left indicators do not, the rear left indicator comes on and stays on (doesn't flash) and the front left indicator just doesn't come on.

It might be something simple but I'm stuck for ideas now, any suggestions are very much appreciated haha!

My mates did the same, it will be the wiring to the front indicator, when the front indicator wasn't working they wouldn't flash, but once he re-wired the front indicator they flashed again :proud:

only thing i can think of are the relays? i was told there's two? try replacing them with new ones, there's one under the dash and one under the bonnet (not 100% on this though lol)

One under the bonnet is a hazard relay, the one under the dash is the indicator relay :proud:

But if it's flashing on the one side its not the relay, it's because the indicator on the front isn't working which doesn't allow them to flash :proud:

I assume you have checked the Bulb?

This sounds like a classic case of a bad connection/earth, either in the bulb holder its self, or the wires from the indicator where they connect to the loom at the LHS front at the end of the grill panel. If you have a volt meter place the red probe to make contact with the centre pickup in the holder and earth and check for a 12v feed and work you way back to the above mentioned loom to indicator connections.

Thanks for the advice guys ill get on it and let you know how I get on. Mine only has one relay, never had a hazards switch fitted. So I assume if one side flashes then its not down to the relay.

I will check the wiring though would a dodgy connection to the front bulb stop the left side flashing?

Yes it would stop it from flashing, the flasher unit is rated at 2 x21w and without 2 x 21w bulbs connected the bi metalic strip wont allow the flashers to flash as there is not enough current to heat up the strip and cause the flashing effect.
