OK, so we all know that you shouldn't rely on a jack when working under the car, and that axle stands are a must. But where is the best place to put them under. I know it should be the subframe but are some parts more suitable than others? (on the front mainly)

Cheers

Subframes are best unless you need to drop the subframe that is.

Then you have to put them under the body but use a piece of wood or scaffodlding board to spread the weight of the car.

Have a look in the FAQ at the subframe mounts FAQ to see what i mean.

Theres a flat bit in line with the top and bottom arms, thats the best place.

On the back I always place them nearer the front of the subframe, near where the susupension goes into the knuckle cup on the trailing arm.
