Got two little blow in repairs to do on wings where they meet the A panel seam. I have gone back to metal, kurusted the areA then primed it with zinc 182. Have now filled the areas and rubbed the filler down. Once I apply the basecoat and lacquer I have been told to blow the lacquer in by applying lacquer over my base coat,.waiting for it to flash off then give it a quick spray over the edge of the new lacquer with upol fade out thinners. Has anyone used this product before and any tips would be great.

I've not used it, but the body shop I use do and I've seen them use it. Seemed to work well though, but you need to be careful not to over do it and cause it to run

the upol fade out spray is excellent, i use it at the minute and havnt forund anything as good. i think its a yellow/silver can 20:43 on the front i think.
but a good tip with it is get the area hot 1st with a heat gun then use the fade out and heat it up again to help it evaporate the edge of the lacquer.
when applying the fade out, dont put to many coats on at once, give it time to work as it evaporates the edge.
so basically i go over the area 1-2 times then heat up and wait for it to evaporate then check and go again if it needs it.
but the wings on a mini are so small do u really need to use it??? why not just blend the colour further and lacquer the whole wing. will make a better job of it!!!!
also just one more thing with it, if you put to much of the fade out thinner on it can cause the lacquer and thinner to run and will desperse it, so just take it slowly with it and use a heat gun!!!

I used the fade out on a wing of an escort I was touching up paint. It takes skill not to overdo the pressure on the fade out otherwise it will run the laquer as mine did. If I was doing it again I'd have went to the nearest edge
