Hi,
I recently brought a set of silicone hoses from minispares and i fitted them last night. Only thing i have noticed which i didn't before is that on the bottom hose where it has the smaller off chute for the heater, it sits quite close to the exhaust manifold.
I know that they can take a lot of heat but will this damage them? I have tried moving it away slightly but my ultimate engine steady gets in the way.
Just wondering if anyone else has a similar concern/ problem?
Cheers
Josh

I've got the same hose but couldn't say i've ever worried about it being too close to the manifold. Silicone is heat resistant though...they make cooking stuff that goes in the oven out of it.

Fitting mine at the weekend, so we will see. :)
Is it possible to twist the hose a little on the radiator end so that the heater takeoff is more vertical? Or is there is a lot of slack maybe cut a little off the bottom hose to pull it away from the manifold a bit?
They can take a lot of heat but you wouldn't want it actually touching.

I just had another look and there is a good 10mm from the manifold and the hose, so as long as it isn't touching i should be fine.
