Okaayy really stuck now. As usual prior to MOT there's wee issues to sort out
All, well some of the dash works, all instruments work, but lost lights in speedo, fuel/ temp gauage, and on /off rev counter lights, what does work is indicator, battery, oil preassure light, but 2 out of the 3 dails always stay dark.
The gauages actually work I can see them during the day, but cant at night.
Whats been done is took cluster out expecting to maybe see loose multiplug, bulbs look ok bar one (bulbs were all changed two years ,ago theres no breaks in the wiring. Stuck now how to proceed, do I need a new cluster or printec circut board
Cheers G

I would have the dash out and with a multimeter prode the 12v feed on the printed circuit to the lamp holders to try and identify where the break in the feed stops and do the same with the earth. I have in the past on printed circuits run a jumper wire across any gaps if parts are no longer available.

Try wiggling and twisting the bulb holders on the copper strips to clean them up
Or pull the bulb holders out and check for any dirt etc

Check all your fuses.
In my wifes car half the dash lights are on one fuse, the other half is on a another fuse.

Really? That would just be nuts. But I wouldn't be surprised ;)
I would pull all the bulb holders, check the bulbs (run a continuity check if unsure) and then use a little emery paper (or fine wet&dry) and polish the bulb holder contacts and the PCB tracks around the holes.
I noticed on our Mini that the grommet on the bulkhead for the speedo cable was missing so the PCB got some "weather".

Ian hit it right on the money, Took the bulb holders out, used a friends wife, nail file kit to clean the tracks around the holes , one bulb at a time,, pull out clean, reconnect, plug dash back in, test, repeat for each bulb. Theres an extra bulb and holder in there, I dont know whats it for, its all lit.
Whats even better other than fully lit dash board, its a lot brighter now. I'm gonna take him out tommrow give him a run, fed up jump starting the wee git
Thanks to everybody for their help, Cheers
