Hi for the last year or so I have been toying in buying a Hayamini but I don't want to jump in and buy the first thing I see.

If I'm going to spend some real money on a toy that will only get used at the weekends I want to make sure I get the right one.

Are you able to give some advise on what to be looking for?

I've had a number of minis in the past and also rallied them previously so as for the shell I have a good idea but as for the rest of the z-car changes I have a limited knowledge.

Your help please........

best to email zcars, although i think youl regret buying a Hyabusa engined mini, the noise in the cabin at 10k rpm is deafening, have a look at a vtec kit option

just my presional oppinion by the way

Go for the hayabusa its not as if you are going to drive it to work, drop the kids off in it. Much more fun to drive very upradictable you can go for a Vtec but you might as well buy a BMW mini. I got a red mini hayabusa admittedly its like caring for a child with special needs but what you must understand is that Zcars need constant attention I was lucky enough to buy mine as a right off and rebuild it learning about the strengths and weakneses of the car kind of keeps you on your toes.

Well as you know the Vtec engine has more torque good for towing caravans, has a reverse gear, quieter but saying that you can tune it through the roof at a small added cost. With a standard Busa unit the car is lighter, you need to learn how to drive it has a mind of its own, you drive it through the seat of your pants, low down performance is very impressive, nimble and a real adrenalin hitter thats prior to tuning it. You mentioned noise my car has substantial sound deadening and fire proofing and the sound level is not that bad can get a bit warm.

as you are not a million miles from me i would love to have a look around your car if you would be willing?

would totally understand if you would rather not, that way you can point out the good, the bad and the ugly.

Personally i'm not to worried about the sound, i am use to rally cars that you can only drive for about 5 miles without your head ready to explode if you don't where ear protectors, i will possibly end up fitting a Peltor intercom system in the one I end up with.

0-60 is the Vtec quicker then?

the only thing with the vtec, i don't think the front looks right!, i like the idea of the Busa that it is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

the one i end up with has to look identical to a standard mini externally, even down to the exhaust coming out in the same place, with a little tint to the windows, no one would know :proud:

Vtec front doesn't look right...? Looks exactly same as the busa as engine still goes in the back, and you use same z cars front subframe for radiator and fuel tank.

Busa is quicker to 60 than the vtec (based on both being standard engines).

I would go to z cars and look at the two side by side and discuss your requirements, go out in the demo and make sure you make the right decision first time.
