Hi all

So, finished the last of my rewiring this evening and have hit a snag... Got centre dials and trippled checked everything, everything is connected properly thru the voltage stabiliser, but turning ignition on the fuel gauge goes off the scale. It's only got 5ltrs in, so definitely a fault.

I've done the usual ground out the temp sensor wire and that gauge is fine, so just the fuel one.

I've swapped n the tank which made no difference, so I'm pretty convinced it's a shot sender as the tank has been off the car for decades (barn find).

Just wanted to check concencous before ordering.

Cheers.

Scott

Can you give us a bit more info? What age is the car, what parts are new etc? A very early tank sender wouldn't be compatible with later gauges, and it would read in reverse I believe.

The car's a 65, but the tank may be later. The Speedo also isn't original, but again not new... Basically everything is varying degrees of used, which I know doesn't help, but being a 65 I should be later than the very early obsolete senders.
