It's not that hard, things that I've struggled to get are the Master cylinders and the original steering wheel and gear knob but I haven't started the interior yet, there's a few rubber grommet things in the bottom of the inner wings you can't get no more and a few terminals. There's a rubber seal that sits under the plate the master cylinders go on you can't get no more and a different bore size wheel brake cylinder I think

Other than those you can find substitutes so there's no really hard to find piece that I've come across a friend of mine recently bought a mk1 with all paperwork for £250 which I think was dirt cheap

Edit: You can buy every panel besides the roof

I think it depends alot on the MK1 and how original you want to get it. Panel wise the rear parcel shelf is not available, but almost all the others are. For the interior, almost every part is available; at a cost. O_O '59 minis have many parts that are different from later cars, and there was a rolling series of changes.

Obviously the more original you want it, the more it will cost. Unless you have got most of the bits to start with.

The wings are the same on all Minis, except that some have holes for side repeaters. The roof panel is identical on all Minis. You can still buy a Mk.1 front panel and Mk.1 inner wings. Mk.1 floors are also available as are virtually all Mk.1 body panels.
Go to the M-Machine web site and download their catalogue on-line. It's all in there with prices.
If you are rebuilding a Mk.1 PM me and I might be able to help with some parts.

Impossible question to answer. However, over the years well restored and original classics have always gone up in value given time. In 1985 a Cooper 'S' Mk.1 could be bought for around £2000 in top condition. Now you will pay upwards of £18000 for a similar car. A fully restored 1962 Mk.1 850 in standard condition recently sold from a classic dealer near me for £10500. The same is true with other classics such as Mk.1 Cortina GT and Lotus-Cortina, etc. It is largely down to how well the restoration is done and how original it is in terms of specification and finish.

What do you want, a mini to drive or a retirement fund? They won't be making any more Mk. 1's so they have to become more scarce and thus more valuable. However; a Mk. 1 or any other model is a car - a means of transport and potentially, a lot of fun along the way. If you want long term profit then you need a 100% correct restoration and then you will need to keep the car in perfect storage for many years. If that's what you want then fine.

Me? I would rather drive it and enjoy the ride.
