Can any one assit with paint codes?, I have discussed with the paint supplier and provided the codes for Smoke Grey and Old English White, he has advised that the OEW codes contain lead and he is unable to make it up, can anyone advise a paint code for OEW that I can provide him that is available today?

The samples for Smoke Grey are very Grey but looking at other cars they are Blueish.

Thanks for your help.

Problem that I have is as follows:

Took the BMC paint code for Smoke Grey to local paint supplier code is BU.15, he mixed this up into a rattle can.
Once applied to a panel it is very Grey and not the blueish grey that I have seen on most pics.
I need to get someone with a recently sprayed Smoke Grey mini to get either the paint mix or get it analysed on a computer system to determine the mix.

Same goes for the Old English White.

Out here in Oz there are not many Mini's with those colours.

Now do you know what paints you are using Dupont? or different?as all mixes will be different, as they will all be using different tinters to make up the mix

Paint is Debeer, apparently blueish version of smoke grey is the UK version and Australian version is the more grey.

There's an excellent article here on BMC paint mixes from 1964.

http://mk1-performan...k/pdf/paint.pdf

The formula for Smoke Grey is as follows:

Smoke Grey
GRT.1 Light Grey … … … 63%
WTT.1 White … … … … . 22%
BUT.3 Light Blue … … … 8%
YLT.4 Pale Ochre … … … 7%

Will let you know how I get on :proud:

BU-15 smoke grey WT-3 old english white . was going to say try here http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/ but noticed you're in oz. Im sure any major car paint supplier can mix it. internet pictures of colours are very misleading, the only way is to try tester
