I'm leaning towards not having arches for Mia the Mini and instead using a set of 'S' offset Minilites or some 5x10 'Exactions'.

I just wondered what you prefer and wether or not you think that, the arch-less look would suit the metallic paint?

I think with metallic I prefer arches, but with standard solid colour paintjobs the classic archless look works better

Personally I'd keep it looking reasonably standard. That's what I'm doing with ronnie, sticking with 'special' arches and 12's, although 6'' wide

After seeing a few Mini's with 'wide' arches on the road, I just think they look a little ridiculous.

They're fine, side on, but the width of the arches always makes them look ridiculous to me.

I was think of having a set of Exactions in Silver with the chrome deluxe trim.

with exactions I think you need the special arches as thats what the arches were first used on but still looks nice

I prefer arch-less, We've got one Mini with and one Mini without

The only thing I would be unsure of is the colour of your Mini being arch-less, I guess its worth a try!

aren't exaction wheels are too wide for arch-less?

I really have gone off the whole really low and wide look. I saw a few early golfs the other way and thought they looked stupid. Almost as if they've bolted the wheels on the wrong way!

I'm going for a 'Mk3' Look, but with the metallic 35 paint.

Ie;

Over-riders
Mk2/3 Rear Lights
Think I'm gonna change my garish exhaust to a 1.75" centre exit maniflow

So the exactions would suit it, they have a little bit of poke, like the 'S' offset wheels.

I think round nose minis look better with ni or very narrow arches.

I am running my red mini arches less with 10x5 ATS classics with a nice bit of chrome trim.

I personally for the mk3 look I wouldnt use over riders as that was mk1 really, and I like the idea of the centre exit 1.75, I think somewhere you can buy the same exhaust as the old monte rally cars had being centre exit and a bit different and I think there would be too much poke as they are 10x5 but I like the plan

Somebody please explain to me how you can get anything bigger than a 3.5" diameter wheel under an archless body arch? As far as I can see, if you add spacers, or spacered drums, the wheel will extend beyond the body, and if you increase the offset, then the tyre will scrub against the inner arch, or am I missing something?

I have 12x4.5s on my car without arches and it was right on the limit but couldnt see tread from above and that was spacered rear drums and 8.4 disks on the front, but 5s would be pushing it
