I never, ever buy second hand alloys, because they have a finite fatigue life and always will fail eventually, probably quite spectacularly. With new wheels, from a reputable manufacturer (not Chinese), and if you treat them well, you have a reasonable expectation that they will be good for 100k miles, maybe even 200k, but with second hand wheels you can never know how many miles thay have done, how much they have been abused, or how much fatigue life remains.
If one of the set of wheels has a crack, the only safe thing to do is to scrap them all, as it is most likely that they are all at the end of their fatigue life.
Steel wheels have far fewer problems, and if properly rated for the car, have an infinite fatigue life.

It's well annoying because chances of me finding just 1 of the wheels is very unlikely. I had brand new tyres put on all of them and the rest have been fine, but one and I don't like the idea of having a alloy wheel repaired.... ******* annoying
You could have it welded (have done in the past with work) but it's entirely up to you if you chose to then use a welded wheel on the road, it might be fine...

Yeah I know someone in the trade who can do it, but I personally don't like the idea of it.It's well annoying because chances of me finding just 1 of the wheels is very unlikely. A welded wheel will NOT be all right on the road. It only cracked because it is at the end of its fatigue life, and you can't undo metal fatigue. Weld up the crack, and it will only fracture somewhere else after a while. You should never even think about repairs to alloy wheels.
