Im sure a few of you have seen her as I've posted pics. But for those of you who haven't heres what I'm working with.

Thanks Rick! Hoping to use as many parts recognized by the "American Muscle" and "Japanese import" guys as possible to keep things familiar to them. Until I pop the hood ;)

Smev, the wheels are actually pretty affordable ($500CAD) however the finish and quality is not quite where id like them to be. Wouodnt recommend them for daily driving and neither does Aero race wheels, the manufacturer.

My car was hit by some rascal at my dads apartment building when I was visiting for a bbq. The fool tried to take off but security stopped him and got his plate number. I went to report it to the local police collision center. Its been 2 years. Havent heard or recieved anything for the damages. :( needless to say, ive got a new polished grill and set of indicators to install in their proper locations.

Stay tuned guys!

Hey folks just a quickie update. Recieved the engine block back from the machine shop bored, honed, decked and cleaned of 20years worth of grease. Crankshaft has been balanced and journals micropolished. Civic typeR pistons hung on the rods. No pics of things unwrapped as I want to keep things fresh and dont want rust buildup just yet ;)

My workbench after the long awaited delivery (3 months!! what the hell!)

@rally515 not at all. Its just part of the manufacturing process. In fact, many high perfomance aftermarket pistons are highly polished and do not have the imperfections mass produced parts do. You do not want any sharp edges or ridges in the combustion chamber as they run the risk of carbon deposits which could lead to predetonation/misfiring as the carbon could become so hot it may ignite the air/fuel mixture before your spark (predetonation).

Dyl. Just saw your PM lets see some pictures after the suspension! Im in the process of sorting out bearings for the engine which is going to be a pain in the arse since the machine shop mixed up the order of my connecting rods so ive got to blueprint everything from scratch! I may post up a DIY for future reference. Cheers boys!

Peter.

Another update of the motor. Just installed new rod and main bearings and punched in the pistons. Now stuck on what to do with the brake master cylinder as the intake is blocking it from going back into place... any cheap solutions for a brake master guys? Dont really have the money to go wilwood :(

B16 all cleaned up
20130521_231858.jpg

Crank all polished and spinning soo smooth after the new bearings were installed

Last look at the cylinders before the head is slapped on :)

And the pistons finally installed

@k20/k24 they are the single adjustable qa1's there are many available on Summitracing. Very nice product. The Eibachs fit quite nicely too!

Well my time off work has come to an end :( ran into many obstacles during this past week and most of it was waiting for parts! To end things on a good note, I have been informed that I passed the Ontario Red Seal exam and am now a licensed automotive technician! I now HATE cars more lol mostly mine.

The complete shortblock minus the oil pan (Pardon the mess guys, I am building the motor at home and gotta work in the coldroom :( and there isnt much space with a mig welder, upright compressor powerwasher etc)

20130526_173144.jpg

My dad decided to shave and powdercost the valve cover for me. Thanks Papa Bear!
20130526_174605.jpg

More parts to be ordered this week. Hope to get the motor in next weekend. All the best,

Peter.
