Hi, I'm fitting a brake servo to my B reg Mayfair with a 1275 engine fitted type ? and its not fitting as of yet. To me untrained eyes it looks like I need to replace the clutch breather pipe and the top engine steady place which also goes under the clutch/ brake peddles. The pic with the brake peddle coming through the bulkhead shows a large hole when a smaller one is needed.
Q1- What do I need to convert the bulkhead hole to fit the rubber grommet on the brake peddle.
Q2- Is it a case of just replacing the breather pipe to a smaller one.
Q3- is there anything else I need to take onto account in the fitment of the servo. [attachment=141725:image.jpg][attachment=141726:image.jpg][attachment=141727:image.jpg]

You need this type of breather http://www.minispare...|Back to search sure there is a grommet/boot you could fit, and dont forget the inlet manifold may need to be drilled if you dont have a take off for the vacuum pipe

Thanks the one I thought I might need. You would know what size tap i'll be needing as I do need to drill the inlet.

5/8" UNF. It needs an irritating drill size of something around 14.7mm I seem to remember.
You should replace the cylinder baseplate yes, the new one has a smaller hole for the push rod but is also a different shape under the bell crank box for the servo. It doesn't have the raised edge. You could just cut your existing one flat and try to find a larger bellows grommet. DSN make a nice ally one. The bulkhead hole is much larger, it's just the hole in the plate that needs to seal to the pushrod. You will need a new gasket for the plate.
The top mounting point on the bell crank box is essential. In cars fitted with the servo as standard this fits to a reinforced point on the bullhead. I can't remember if the earlier bulkheads have the angle in the pressing that reinforces it here but at the least you will have to make a hole. If it's just a flat panel there you will need beef it up some.

Do I still need to pipe through the pressure reducing valve?
There isn't enough space to fit any pipes into the top with the servo in place so if I do still need it where does it relocate to?

Yes you do. I seem to remember you simply flip it so it's facing the other way. If you are using the genuine solid brake lines this should put all the ports in the right places as they will be made for it to be fitted like that.
