Just spent a day with the police searching for my 1983 Mini Sprite which was stolen yesterday from my lock-up garage which I use for storage the garage is located in my cousins yard...safe you’d think...not so.

Luckily managed to recover the car that had been safely stored there since August 1995!!!!!!! It was hidden about a mile away ready for collection later

However from the garage I have discovered the following are missing
  • 4 x “GB Alloy” wheels without tyres, just refurbished as new
  • 5 x “Mini Special” wheels with worn yokohama tyres
  • 4 x “Compomotive TF” Alloy wheels 2 with road and 2 with colway rally tyres (very 70's google them, now quite rare)
  • 2 x Mini Cylinder Heads part No 12G-295 Sealed in clingfilm
  • 1 x Mini Cylinder Head Marked “John Cooper” painted yellow sealed in cling film...very rare
  • 1 x Mini Racing Cylinder Head Part No 12G-940 as per picture, but of course all the cylinder heads look very similar
  • 1 x Racing Mini Engine Block, sealed in clingfilm
  • 4 x Mini Cooper “S” connecting rods sealed in cling film, labelled... rare
  • 1 x mini complete gearbox, brand new sealed in cling film
  • 3 x mini Verto flywheel/clutch assemblies 2 SPI one carb
  • Large clear plastic storage Box of Smiths Instruments including ammeters, voltmeters, clock and oil pressure gauges, dashboard parts and fittings
  • Mini body panels including windscreen scuttle panel part no HMP441001 and dashboard panel Part No 14A6675
  • Cardboard tube of Brand new roof aerials 1 black 2 chrome
Well pigged off with this as I've had no problems with this garage in 20 years and get it robbed 2 days before I move the stuff out!!!

The damage to the car was limited to a scratched front wing and a smashed steering lock.

I'll be keeping my eyes open for them for sale on ebay or at Himley Hall...

Regards

Andy

That's terrible. Small consultation that you got the mini back but tracing those parts will be difficult.

Thats sucks, hope you can find more of your things.
Some people are just too bone idle/Ignorant to get a job and buy their own parts!

Gumtree's a fave with the dodgy ones. All cash on collection and meeting at middle locations.

Add to that list a pair of dereks mini centre plastic undershields, 2 door post repair panels, bag of stainless steel bolts(lots of them)....you know when you got to fit something and theres a hole on the shelf where they were? thats happening a lot to me at the moment!

30 years to build up a stock of parts 1 night to remove them, from whats been taken they knew their stuff, the S rods where in a box with some 1275GT rods, the S rods are gone, the GT ones still there, on a shelf with 7 cylinder heads only the modified and rare ones where lifted

Thanks for the support guys

Andy

Still no sign of any of my parts, expecting the thief to let things cool down before offering them for sale...about now possibly.

Keep your eyes open for me guys, much appreciated

I've printed off your list of missing parts and stuck it to my cork pin board above my computer, I'll cross reference it when I'm on my internet travels; with buyers knowledge & hindsight those rare parts may backfire for them.  Sorry to hear this :(

Hi Guys

Thanks for keep this one live..some news

My 4 compmotive TF alloys have been recovered from a guy who purchased them ror £50 from Hanley Clough St Boot Sale!!

Police have now recovered them as evidence and will be making further enquiries.

Of all the things stolen they are thing I wanted back the least but its a start.

Anybody got a single point injection flywheel...the new old stock unit I had was stolen along with its associated gearbox

Many thanks for the help so far....keep em peeled

Andy
