I recently brought what I thought was a 998 block only to find it is actually at closer inspection a 1098 block. I currently have some 998 pistons, but I am bit lost whether I can use this if I get a 998 crank. If anyone has any suggestions on what to use would be greatly appreciated.

I beleive I am right in saying that the blocks of the 998 and the 1098 are both exactly the same,

the only difference between them are the crank and pistons. so yes you can use the block for a 998 if you wish

I am fairly sure that's right, of not, someone will correct me

998 and 1098 blocks are the same, as are the rods.
The difference in capacity is done with a longer stroke crank and shorter pistons.

Anyone know good place to get 998 flat pistons, rings? Preferably somewhere not overly expensive but still decent quality, goes without saying I guess.
