Hi all what ignition coil will I require for my mini
1275 a plus engine standard
59d dizzy with points and condenser
Unsure weather I need ballasted or not

Hi phil it's a 1982 mini but the engine is not original to it.

hi its the cars wiring thats ballasted not the engine there is a piece of resistance wire fitted in the loom that goes to the coil ,this wire drops the voltage to the coil
if your coil has a white/pink and white/yellow wire to the + terminal its ballasted
if your coil has a white wire to the + terminal its non ballasted

Hi I've no wiring in the car at the moment but will be getting the loom shown below but doesn't mention colours it's a minispares one.

hi as its a 1988-90 loom it will be ballasted as cars of that age are

Best to fit a standard coil wire and a 12 volt coil.
